Munich Commemoration Wall Clock<\/h4>\r\n

The Munich Commemoration Wall Clock is produced by THC in the UK, remembering the Munich air disaster that occurred on 6 February 1958, when British European Airways Flight 609 crashed during an attempt to take off from a slush-covered runway at Munich-Riem Airport, in what was then West Germany. \u00a0 This commemoration wall clock<\/strong> has two faces, each showing the date of the disaster, with one face permanently fixed at the time it occurred. The clock is made from Oak and ebonised to produce a near black colour that is finished with oil and wax, giving a tactile satin look and feel. The clock has a choice of movement:<\/strong> ~ Standard quartz movement; ~ Chiming quartz movement – which has the options of Bim Bam or Westminster chimes; ~ Radio controlled quartz movement – which uses the highly accurate 77.5 kHz carrier signal that is transmitted across Europe from the Mainflingen longwave transmitter, in Mainflingen, Germany; and displays Greenwich Mean Time GMT for the UK. Dimensions:<\/strong> H17 x W12.5 x D14 inches (44 cm x 32 cm x 36 cm) \u00a0 The Manchester United football team<\/strong>, nicknamed the “Busby Babes”, along with supporters and journalists were on the plane, which was returning from a European Cup match in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, after eliminating Red Star Belgrade.\u00a0 The flight stopped to refuel in Munich.\u00a0 After the failed take off, twenty of the forty on the plane died at the scene, with a further three of the injured succumbing later in hospital,<\/p>\r\n
