Movements

There are two type of movement used in the available Clocks and Chimes products:

Mechanical Movements – which can be quarter hour melody with hourly strike, such as Westminster chimes movement;

• quarter hour melody with hourly strike, such as Westminster chimes movement,
• hourly strike with half hour strike (Bim Bam),
• Singe bell chime on each hour.

These Mechanical Movements can be identified by looking at the clock dial:

• quarter hour melody has three arbours/holes in the dial – chimes, strike and time,
• hourly strike has two arbours/holes in the dial – strike and time,
• Singe bell has no arbours/holes in the dial.

Quartz Movements – There are three type of Quartz movement used:

• Chiming quartz movement, quarter hour melody with hourly strike, such as Westminster chimes movement,
• Radio controlled quartz movement.
• Standard quartz, stepping movement.
